Scoil Mhuire Community School Clane is an Irish co-educational post-primary school with 1,200 pupils and a staff of eighty teachers. It is directed by the Department of Education and Skills on behalf of the Irish Government.
Scoil Mhuire began offering Adult Education classes in September 1983. The numbers have grown to approximately 2,000 learners per term doing a range of pastime and certified courses. These include courses run in conjunction with Maynooth University, ITEC (the International Therapist Examination Council), and ICDL Ireland. In addition, we are also a provider of QQI programmes with up to 350 Certifications per year including full awards and individual modules.
Scoil Mhuire Adult Education’s key objective is to meet the needs of ongoing education in our community while contributing towards the spiritual, moral, mental and physical well-being and development of the community.
We also promote community-based learning in a caring, disciplined and inclusive environment.
Our courses facilitate learning that is skill-based and knowledge-based and which benefit the Community in general and enable individuals to contribute to the Community in a more positive and enlightened way.
All teaching and learning is in line with the Mission, Vision and Values of Scoil Mhuire while meeting the requirements of our awarding bodies including QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland).
To help all learners achieve their potential, Scoil Mhuire Adult Education:
Programmes leading to major awards at levels 3,4,5 and 6 of the NFQ validated by QQI delivered using a face-to-face model of delivery. The Adult Education Centre is a registered QQI QA Centre No.91372D and has agreed its Quality Assurance policies with QQI.
Accredited Programmes
Programmes leading to minor, special purpose and major awards at levels 3,4,5 and 6 of the NFQ validated by QQI and delivered using a face-to-face model of delivery.
Non-Accredited Programmes
We offer a wide range of Adult Education programmes that facilitate learners in furthering their education, improving skills or learning a new hobby.
Programmes leading to Awards on the NFQ
Accredited Training – QQI
Scoil Mhuire offers programmes in Healthcare and Childcare, part-time over two years, to learners who are studying for a Major, Minor or Special Purpose Award. The modules for these awards are delivered on-site in Scoil Mhuire Community School.
Through Collaborative Provision, these modules may also be offered by second providers who have entered into an agreement and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Scoil Mhuire Adult Education.
