Evidence of learner-feedback should be retained and entered into the Tutor Folder or be apparent in the learner's portfolio.
Tutors are responsible for:
- Providing timely and constructive, formal and informal, formative and summative feedback to learners at appropriate points throughout the programme which helps to ensure a successful outcome to assessment.
- Providing timely feedback that contains enough detail to enable learners to evaluate and improve their performance.
- Making themselves available throughout the programme to provide formative feedback on a one-to-one basis where a learner may need additional support.
- Encouraging learners to ask for additional feedback and/or further clarification if they need it.
- Commenting on/annotating the assessment scripts when they are marking.

When Giving Feedback to Learners:
- Use positive language
- Identify and note strengths
- Give specific feedback, with examples or direct references
- Use assessment criteria and marking schemes to assist you in giving objective feedback and to suggest specific options for improvement.
