1.1 Scheme of Work
A Scheme of Work is a plan of what course material will be covered during a module course. To comply with best practice and quality assurance procedures, an updated Scheme of Work is required for every course you are delivering.
The Scheme of Work consists of 3 Sections:
- Course Details Section including Group Name, Module Title, Code & QQI Level, Number of Sessions, Contact Delivery Hours, Tutors Name, and Coordinators Name.
- Assessment Techniques The assessment techniques required by the module descriptor which are found in Section 11 of the up to date Module Descriptor. All Learning Outcomes need to be assessed.
- Scheme of Work This gives the breakdown of what is to be covered in each session of the course taking into account the time you have for each session and how many hours you have in total for the module. It also addresses what Learning Outcomes need to be covered in each session. The scheme of work should outline the different teaching methods to be used such as large and small group work, applied learning, self-directed learning, research, power point, notes, group discussions and so on.
