4.1 What are the rules for examinations?
Before the Exam Starts
- Please arrive at the examination centre at least 15 minutes prior to the examination start time.
- You are NOT permitted to enter the exam hall a half hour after the exam has started.
- Adhere to all regulations as instructed by the invigilator.
- Please leave all personal belongings out of reach before the examination begins.
- iPads, tablets or other electronic devices are not permitted in the exam hall.
- You must switch off all mobile phones and devices, including smart watches, wireless headphones etc., and place them in the designated area.
- Before the exam starts, please provide proof of identity to the invigilator, and then sign the EXAMINATION ATTENDANCE REGISTER.
- The examination papers are distributed face down at the commencement of the examination, and you are not permitted to commence until instructed to do so by the invigilator.
During the Exam
- Strict silence must be observed during the exam.
- Do not communicate, or attempt to communicate, in any way, with another candidate in the exam hall or by electronic means with a person outside the exam hall.
- Learners shall neither attempt to aid another learner nor receive help from another learner. Copying from other learners is a serious breach of conduct.
- You may be asked to leave the exam hall by the invigilator if you attempt to copy or where your misconduct could hinder other candidates in the exam hall.
- Please raise your hand if you wish to attract the attention of the invigilator during the examination.
- If you notice any error on the exam paper, please bring it to the attention of the invigilator immediately.
- You may NOT refer to textbooks or notes during the exam unless expressly permitted by the invigilator.
